Prices and quotes
How much does a new carpet cost?
It depends on the carpet you choose, the underlay and the size and shape of the room. Polypropylene sits at the budget end, polyester in the middle and wool at the top, with underlay and fitting on top. We give you a fixed price after a free measure. Read the full carpet cost guide.
Is the home measure free?
Yes. Once you have chosen your flooring in our Kirkham showroom, RedRose measures every room at your home for free and with no obligation, anywhere in our area. You then get a fixed quote covering the flooring, underlay, fitting and, if you want it, uplift and disposal.
Will my quote change on the day?
No. Your quote includes the flooring, underlay, fitting, any preparation we identified and uplift and disposal if you asked for it.
Choosing a floor
What is the best carpet for a busy family home?
A stain resistant cut pile carpet, such as a polypropylene or polyester twist, in a mid tone or flecked colour. Avoid loop pile if you have pets.
What is the best floor for a kitchen or bathroom?
LVT or sheet vinyl. Both handle water far better than laminate or wood. See our vinyl and LVT page.
Should I choose LVT or laminate?
LVT for kitchens, bathrooms and a warmer feel, laminate for great value in lounges and bedrooms. Our LVT vs laminate guide compares them side by side.
Can I see samples before I buy?
Yes. Come into the showroom on Poulton Street to see and feel the full range in person.
Fitting
Who fits the floors?
Our own fitters. We do not use subcontractors.
Do you take away old flooring?
Yes, we offer uplift and disposal of old carpet, underlay and flooring.
How long does fitting take?
Most single rooms take our fitters a few hours, and you can use the room the same day. A straight staircase takes around half a day and a full house is usually two to three days. We confirm timings in your quote.
Will my doors need trimming?
Sometimes, if the new floor is thicker than the old one. We check at the measure and tell you in advance.
Which areas do you cover?
Our only showroom is in Kirkham, and we fit across the Fylde and beyond, including Preston, Blackpool, Lytham and St Annes, Poulton le Fylde, Garstang, Wesham, Freckleton, Wrea Green and Warton. See areas we cover.
Beds and mattresses
Do you sell beds?
Yes. Divan beds, ottoman storage beds, wooden and upholstered bed frames and mattresses.
Can I try a mattress in the shop?
Of course. Come into the showroom on Poulton Street, Kirkham, lie on the mattresses and take your time. We can talk you through firmness, sizes and storage beds, and we are a short drive from Preston, Blackpool and Lytham.
What size is a king size bed in the UK?
A UK king size mattress is 150 x 200cm. A double is 135 x 190cm and a super king is 180 x 200cm.
