Luxury vinyl tile

The floor that copes with real life

LVT, or luxury vinyl tile, is a tough, water resistant floor that looks like wood or stone but feels warmer and softer underfoot. RedRose Carpets supplies and fits LVT and sheet vinyl across Kirkham, Preston, Blackpool, Lytham St Annes and the Fylde coast, including herringbone and chevron patterns.

Muddy boots, wet dogs, cooking splashes and bath time: LVT takes it all in its stride and wipes clean in seconds. It is also quieter and warmer than tiles, and modern ranges are so realistic that visitors often assume it is real oak.

The secret to a great LVT floor is the preparation underneath. We check your subfloor at the free measure and tell you honestly what it needs.

FAQs

Vinyl and LVT questions

Is LVT waterproof?

Most LVT is highly water resistant, and rigid core products are often sold as fully waterproof. Spills and splashes are no problem, which is why it is so popular for kitchens and bathrooms. Standing water should still be mopped up.

What is the difference between vinyl and LVT?

Sheet vinyl comes on a roll and is fitted in large pieces, usually with a cushioned back. LVT, short for luxury vinyl tile, comes as individual planks or tiles that are thicker and more realistic, and can be laid in patterns like herringbone.

Can LVT go over underfloor heating?

Many LVT ranges are compatible with underfloor heating, within the manufacturer's temperature limits. Tell us if you have it when we measure and we will only recommend suitable products.

Does my floor need preparing first?

LVT shows any lumps or dips beneath it, so the subfloor needs to be smooth, flat and dry. We check this when we measure. If preparation such as plywood or a levelling compound is needed, we explain why and include it in your quote.

Should I choose LVT or laminate for a kitchen?

For kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms we usually recommend LVT because it handles water far better. Read our full LVT vs laminate guide.
