Choosing a carpet should not feel like guesswork. Pile type, fibre and underlay make far more difference to how a carpet looks in five years than the colour on the sample. We will help you balance comfort, durability and budget, room by room, and you will always get a fixed quote before you commit.
Whether you are carpeting a single bedroom, a full house move or a rental between tenants, we will treat the job like it is our own home.

Your hardest working carpet. A good twist or wool blend in a mid tone will hide the daily wear, and a quality underlay makes it feel far more expensive than it is.
This is where you can treat yourself. A deep saxony or soft twist feels lovely first thing in the morning, and lighter shades work because traffic is low.
Choose durability first. A short, dense twist, a wool rich carpet or a tight loop copes best with constant footfall. See our stairs and runners page for more.
Go for a stain resistant cut pile carpet and avoid loop pile, which claws can snag. Mid tones and flecked colours are kinder than plain light shades.

FAQs
A short, dense pile that springs back well: a good twist, a wool or wool blend, or a tight loop. Stairs take more wear than any floor in the house, so it is worth spending a little more here. Our guide to the best carpet for stairs explains why.
A stain resistant cut pile carpet, such as a polypropylene twist, is the safest choice. Avoid loop pile carpets like berbers, because claws can catch the loops and pull them.
Almost always, yes. Old underlay has usually been flattened, and putting a new carpet on it shortens its life. New underlay adds comfort, warmth and sound insulation, and helps the carpet wear evenly. We will recommend the right grade for each room when we measure.
Yes. Come into the showroom on Poulton Street to see and feel the full range in person. Bring photos of your rooms and we will help you match colours and choose the right pile and underlay.
It depends on the quality, the room and the underlay. A good carpet in a bedroom can last well over ten years, while a hall or stair carpet works much harder. Choosing the right type for each room is the best way to get your money's worth.
We will give you a fitting date when you order. Some ranges are available quickly and others are made to order, and we will always tell you upfront which is which.
